TEMERLOH, April 24 (Bernama) -- The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, arrived here Saturday morning for a visit to this district in Pahang.
He alighted from a helicopter at Padang Stadium Mini, Temerloh, at 9.25am and was received by Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob and State Executive Councillors.
Abdullah then held a meeting with State Executive Councillors and Barisan Nasional elected representatives from Pahang at the Federal Office Building in Temerloh.
This afternoon the Prime Minister will have a get-together with members of the "Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia" (Pekida) at Felda Lakum, Lanchang.
Some 30,000 people are expected at the function where he will launch the Yayasan Pekida and Koperasi Pekida Berhad.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to Kuala Lumpur from Felda Lakum at 5pm.
